Finding Clarity: How Tarot Can Guide Your Spiritual Journey

What is Tarot and Why Do People Turn to It?

It breaks my heart that many people put such a terrible stigma behind something so insightful. Just like a journal and pencil or pen, Tarot cards is simply a tool. It comes in many shapes, sizes, and designs. One thing about tarot that makes it Tarot is that it is made of 78-cards. Anything more or less I consider it an oracle. I have those too but I feel like the Tarot just adds so much more context and range to a reading. The part that makes tarot cards what they are is that they follow a standard skelton of what each card is suppose to depict. Reading with different kinds of systems is also very enlightening as well. I have both RWS and Thoth, however my hands reach more for the RWS since it is the deck I first learned with.

People turn to this in their time off need. They look to the deck for guidance. Tarot is not easy to learn. It will make a forever student of you. So people go to those who may not be masters because as stated you will forever learn from the tarot. Tarot helps people understand the deep rooted crisis, and dilemmas we may face in life. Some want to know their futures. I am no fortune teller. That is not my forte. I am an energy reader. The cards pulls the energy of an individual in that given moment and give glimpses of what possible outcomes can come about. However, the future forever changes depending upon what someone does in the next following moments. This is why I will never claim to be a fortune teller.

How Tarot Helps with Spiritual Growth

So we all have that person in our heads that tells you what is it you need to do to get through. Sometimes we tend to ignore it, second guess it, and carry on like we didn't hear it at all. Some of us do not hear it at all. Too busy with life experiences and obligations where we stopped listening to our subconscious. Getting a reading can have someone on the outside take a peak in, read the energy of the room and give you the message they sense you need to know to grow and move forward to continue to have experience and grow even more. This  is after all what like is about.

Choosing the Right Spread for Your Questions

Some years ago, I kept a journal that I would sit and write questions in. Drawing square on the pages in different positions. Some of these diagrams created flowers, stars, circles. On my bed, I would scribble in the squares numbers. These number represented the order of how I would lay the cards. I would write next to the number the questions I had. I did this because when I looked for spreads online, I couldn't find any that addressed my exact questions.

This took time to learn to do. So if you don't want to work on creating your own spreads. You could look up spreads on place like social media, some personal favorites is Pinterest, TikTok, and even here. Every week there will be a new tarot spread released here on my blog.

Tips for Interpreting Your Readings

When looking at a spread I want you to make sure you have something to write with. Always keep a journal for your readings. I want you to look at the cards individually and write keywords that come to your mind. Anything that comes into your mind really. Make sure to notate the card you are getting these cues from. This is why it is important to look at each card individually. If you smell something while looking at this certain card, write it down, hear wind chimes? Write it down. What do you feel? Write it down. Then move to the next card. Then once you have gone through each individually look at the full spread. Remember each position is meant for something. Remember those cues and write the story you are reading and what you felt. Melt them together into a beautiful story. Tarot tells a story. This is one of the best ways for someone to receive information.

Conclusion

Tarot is not something to be feared, and it is not something that should be used to control your life. Tarot is a tool, just like a journal, just like a pen, just like a conversation with someone who understands how to listen. It is a way to see what is happening beneath the surface.

People turn to tarot when they feel lost, when they feel stuck, when they feel like something in life is not making sense. Tarot does not live your life for you, and it does not make decisions for you. What it does is help you see. It helps you see your patterns, your choices, your relationships, your fears, your strengths, and sometimes even the things you have been trying to avoid.

Tarot is not about someone telling you what will happen. Tarot is about helping you understand what is happening. And when you understand what is happening, you can make better choices about where you want to go next.

At the end of the day, tarot is a tool for awareness, growth, and understanding. The cards may tell a story, but you are the one who decides how the story continues.
